The toughest job

or: Hello (again), world.

No matter how much they lament about “clients who don’t get it”, about ridiculous deadlines or other job-related ordeals, for most designers i know, there’s one project, which is more grueling than any other: designing your own website.

It wasn’t any different for us with this second incarnation of precious-forever.com. After postponing it for ages, we’ve built the basic layout within two days. But it took another long week of doubts, scrutinizing, despair and constant refinement till we ended up with what you see. We are now more than satisfied with the result and we hope you like it too.

With the new site, we wanted to shift focus away from our portfolio and create a forum for our ideas and a platform for various other projects we are involved in. It is meant to grow and evolve.

Besides updating the site with articles, new links or book recommendations, we are working on the portfolio section, which we hope to launch soon. Other projects that will extend this site are already planned.

We also decided to write more articles in German, our native language. With our old weblog, written entirely in English, we felt that we often limited our abilities to express our ideas. Sometimes it’s much easier for us to express our thoughts in German and it’s definitely much more fun to play with a language you fully* master. Sorry to all non-German speakers, but don’t turn the back on us — there will still be a lot of content in English, which you hopefully find interesting.

If you spot any bugs or if you have anything else to say, please do so.
